Marron William Abbott, age 90, a lifelong resident of Lithonia, Georgia, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019. The only son of Egbert and Anna Lou Abbott, he was a graduate of Lithonia High School, class of 1946. Co-owner of United Transmissions on Marietta Street in Atlanta, retiring in 1993 after 28 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Lithonia. Marron enjoyed traveling, fishing trips, NASCAR racing, and country music. Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rachel Pritchett, he is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jo Ann Moreland Abbott from Woodbury; daughters, Judy Doi and her husband, David, of Johns Creek; Susan Davis and her husband, Duck, of Conyers; Jenny Gordon and her husband, Dan, of Buford; son, Jeff Abbott and his wife, Christy, of Dahlonega; grandchildren, Andrea Duncan and husband Chris, Jessica Weaver and husband Derek, Lauren Dean and husband Daniel, Ryan Doi, Ronnie Gordon and Sydney Gordon, Austin Abbott and Alex Abbott; sisters, Vera Born and Jean Owens and 6 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held 2 o'clock, Monday, December 30th, at the First Baptist Church of Lithonia with Dr. Jim Martin and Rev. Robert Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow at Philadelphia Baptist Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Marron's memory to the First Baptist Church of Lithonia, P.O.
