(1904-1990)

Allen T. Booth Sr., 84, of Town Branch Hill, Vanceburg, Ky., died Monday, Oct. 1, 1990, at home after a long illness.

Born March 6, 1904, in Minerva, Ky., a son of the late James William and Birdie Jones Booth, he was employed by L.V. Marks & Son Shoe Co. for 43 years and retired form U.S. Shoe Co. in Vanceburg where he had worked for 14 years. He was a member of Vanceburg United Methodist Church, an Army veteran of World War I, and worked as a guard for Ashland Oil & Refining Co. during World War II.

Preceded in death by his wife, Audra Abbott Booth, on March 25, 1989; he is survived by a son, Allen Booth Jr. of Haddenfield, N.J.; a brother, James Booth of Southgate, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.

Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. James Seelhorst officiating, and interment in Abbott Cemetery, Town Branch, Vanceburg. Friends may call at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.
