Willie Tom Icenhower (Maw-Tom and Aunt Tommie) was born August 25, 1914. She lived a meaningful life of service for 92 years, 10 months, and 23 days, and at 93 years of age, and on July 18, 2007, she was granted her entry into paradise.
Waiting on her there are her parents, Willie Anderson and Mary Elizabeth (Payne) Scoggin; her brothers John Dow and Charlie Roy Scoggin, and a host of family and friends whom she has so desperately missed in her last years here on this earth. Especially missed was the company of her life-long partner and beloved husband, Otis L. Icenhower, who left this world on Dec. 27, 1994.
Tommie Icenhower was first and foremost a leader to the kingdom of God, she served as a faithful member and teacher at Immanuel Baptist Church for as long as she could attend. She served her community as Circuit Clerk of Howard County, Arkansas from 1967-1976. She was an active member of the garden club for many great years.
Although Maw-Tom's body in her last days made her appear frail, the soul that dwelled within possessed strength, perseverance, and the ability to overcome incredible odds and physical challenges.
Maw-Tom is survived by her daughter, Peggy Ann Rike; three grandchildren, Otis Todd Feemster of Camden, Teri Lynn Callaway of Nashville, and John Tyson Feemster of Red Water, Texas; her seven great-grandsons: Robbye, Jonnye, and Seth Pratt, Tyler Feemster, Clint, Blake, and Colby, Feemster; and one great-granddaughter, Ryleigh Feemster. She also leaves behind one surviving sister, Mary Dean Ray; one surviving sister-in-law, Eula Mae Scoggin; nieces Judi Cauley, Kay McClure, and Lori Stephens; nephews Charles and Randy Scoggin; and a multitude of children whom she called her own.
Visiting hours are to be held Friday night, July 20, 2007, from 6-8 p.m. at the Nashville Funeral Home.
There will be a memorial service Sat., July 21, 2007, at 2 p.m. at the Nashville Funeral Home, with her pastor, Bro. Glen Green officiating. A collation at Immanuel Baptist Church will prelude the service.
Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park in Nashville
