Singer. He began his career as a member of the doo-wop band The Del-Vikings, where he sang the lead for songs including "Cool Shake," "Uh Uh Baby," "Jitterbug Mary," "No Hu Hu," "What'cha Gotta Lose," "Heart and Soul," "Is It Any Wonder," and the smash hit "Come Go With Me." However, his time with the group ended in 1957 after being stationed as an airman at Wiesbaden Air Base. In the 1960s, he began singing Schlager music in West Germany. Between 1960 and 1967, 19 of his songs made the charts. Likewise, in 1961, his song "Der Mann im Mond" ("The Man in the Moon") landed at Number 1 on the German charts. He created German covers of songs by Conway Twitty, Paul Anka, and Elvis Presley. Additionally, between 1959 and 1970, he had nearly 30 movie and television appearances where he often showcased his music. He retired from singing in 2014.
