(1901-1997)
Thomas Stafford, 95, of Vanceburg (Ky.) Route 1, died Saturday, Jan. 18, 1997, at a Maysville, Ky., hospital.
Born Feb. 25, 1901, in Lewis County, Ky., a son of the late Henry and Elizabeth Stone Stafford, he was a semi-truck driver, farmer and a member of the Vanceburg United Methodist Church.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lola Abbott Stafford, Feb. 13, 1976, he is survived by a daughter, Audrey Joyce Silvey of Vanceburg Route 1; three grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
He also was preceded in death by six brothers, Harry, Jack, Fielden, Ralph, John and James Stafford; and five sisters, Ida Walters, Laura Howard, Minnie Howard, Becky Horsley and Callie McCarty.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Vanceburg United Methodist Church, with the Rev. James Finch officiating, and interment in Abbott Cemetery. Friends may call at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg from 5 to 9 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
