STERRETT – Funeral Service for Douglas W. Acker, age 82, of Sterrett, will be held Saturday, March 7 at 10:00 a.m. at the Beulah Baptist Church in Sterrett. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, March 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Church. Mr. Acker passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, David and Velma Acker; brother, Ralph Acker; sisters, Elizabeth Davis(Herbert), Juanita West. He is survived by his wife, Frances Shoemaker Acker; his 4 children, Terry Acker, David E. Acker, Tammy Dorough, Brandy Acker; 6 grandchildren, Tiffany Hutchinson (Ben), Sarah Dorough, Courtney Acker, Seth Dorough, Candace Munoz (Gilberto), Blaine Parks; 5 great-grandchildren, Maison Underwood, Mattix Underwood, Maevry Underwood, Elenore Hutchinson, Everly Hutchinson; brothers, James Acker, Judson Locke (Pat), Paul Locke; sister-in-law, Maenell Acker.
