Harley Abbott, 74, died Monday in the Peninsula General Hospital following a short illness. He was a retired waterman and truck farmer of Deal Island.
He was the husband of the late Mrs. Drucilla Abbott of Deal island and the son of the late Smith Abbott and Sarah W. Abbott of Deal Island.
He is survived by a son, Gilbert Abbott of Monie, a daughter, Mrs. Edwin Smith of Alexandria, Va., a sister, Mrs. Thomas Scott of Fruitland, a half brother, John Webster of Princess Anne, and three grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the St. John's Methodist Church with the Rev. W. Irvin Collins, pastor, officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery
