Charles William Stevens was the son of James Charles Stevens, Sr. and Martha Stevens. He is the brother of James Charles Stevens, Jr., Martha C. Stevens (Mrs. James H. Linn), Emma Gertrude Stevens (Mrs. Joseph Henderson Abercrombie), William Stevens, Charles Stevens, and Ella Stevens. He married Meteah Bodine ca. 1886, daughter of John and Miriam Morgan Bodine of IN. He was a machinist. Upon his death, age 73, he lived at 4209 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN. Their children were: Meta, John C., Pauline H., Cleanth, Louisa A., and Corine F. (Mrs. M.I. Black, Mrs. James Traylor, Miss Louise Stevens, Mrs. Walter Hawkins).
