Blanche Holbrook Blanton, age 91 of Paintsville, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at her residence. Born July 30, 1928 n Johnson County, Kentucky to the late Ambrose Minton Holbrook and Martha Adams Holbrook. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Windell “Nig” Blanton; one son, Bobby Blanton; one daughter, Sandra Abrams; one brother, Homer Holbrook; four sisters: Gertrude Howard, Pauline Castle, Charles Irene Holbrook, and Nellie Scott; one grandson, Scottie Abrams.
She is survived by three sons: John Michael Blanton and wife, Teresa of Grove City, Ohio, Terry Wendell of Paintsville,Kentucky, Brian David Blanton and wife, Amy of Grove City, Ohio; four daughters: Debbie Blanton of Paintsville, Kentucky, Judy Frazier and husband, Jimmy of Staffordsville, Kentucky, Barb Vanhoose of Paintsville, Kentucky, Nikki McCarty of Cocoa, Florida; one son-in-law, Sam Abrams of Cocoa, Florida; one sister, Mollie Griffith of Winchester, Kentucky. Thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Sunday, May 24, 2020 at the First Freewill Baptist Church on 3rd Street with burial to follow in the Staffordsville Church Cemetery. Brian Blanton, Terry Blanton, and Mike Blanton will officiate. Friends may visit at the Phelps & Son Funeral Home on Friday from 6:00-9:00pm, Saturday from 9:00am- and on Sunday after 1:00pm at the church.
