Frances E. Abeyta, age 90, a resident of Cleveland, NM, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012 following an extended illness.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Telesfor and Amelia Tafoya Trujillo, sons, Rudy Tafoya and Telesfor Tafoya and a daughter-in-law, Gloria García. Frances is survived by her husband of 69 years, Alberto Abeyta of Cleveland, NM, two daughters, Dolores Emelia Tipton and her husband, Harry of Bosque Farms, NM and Ruby Elizabeth Blackwell and her husband, Larry of Socorro, NM, one son, Frank Abeyta and his wife, Lorraine of Bloomfield, NM, daughter-in-law, Josie Abeyta of Santa Fé, NM, 14 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Frances was born in Ledoux, NM on June 17, 1922 and was untied in marriage to Alberto Abeyta on March 5, 1943 at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, NM.
A life long Catholic, she was a member of St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, NM and was a member of the Legion of Mary.
Frances was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Frances enjoyed gardening, canning, and crocheting and loved flowers and her animals.
A visitation will be held at St. Gertrude's Catholic Church in Mora, NM on Sunday, October 14, 2012 beginning at 6:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 15, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Father James Sánchez will celebrate the Mass. The interment will follow in the San Antonio Cemetery in Cleveland, New Mexico.
