Thos. H. Aasen died early Sunday morning, April 28, 1935, at the age of 48 years, 9 months and 18 days.
The deceased was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Hans Aasen. He was born in Roros, Norway, July 10, 1886. He came to America in the spring of 1907 coming direct to Fairbury, Nebr., where he has since made his home. He was first employed by the Fairbury Windmill co., later learning the carpenter trade, in which work he became very proficient.
He was married July 3, 1913, to Christine Arner of Fairbury, Nebr., Mr. and Mrs. Aasen moved to the farm south of Fairbury in 1919, that being their home at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife, his son Harold, a senior in the Fairbury high school, a daughter Helen, aged 10 years, his mother, Mrs. Anna Aasen, Roros, Norway, two brothers, Axell and Hans and one sister Mrs. Sofie Engen, all living in Norway and a brother John Aasen of Fairbury, Nebr. His father and two brothers preceded him in death. He is also survived by a number of niece (sic) and nephews, one of whom Clarence Arner has lived in the Aasen home for the past eight years.
Funeral services were held at the Christian church in Fairbury Tuesday afternoon, Rev. R. E. Deadman having charge. The I. O. O. F. of which order the deceased was a member, had charge at the grave.
Pall bearers were Chas. Brandes, Chas. Knocke, Dr. Edmunds, Emmett Lewis, James Nation and Wm. Stover.
Interment in the Fairbury vemetery (sic).
