Margaret Alexander ROUNDUP

Margaret Alexander, a very "spunky" lady, enjoyed playing pinochle and doint crossword puzzles. She and her husband farmed north of Lavina, retiring to Lavina in 1947. They moved to Roundup in 1961, Mrs. Alexander, 93, died Saturday in Roundup nursing home, where she had been a patient about nine months. Born in Waterville, Minn., she was a daughter of John and Elizabeth Burke and married Ray Alexander Feb. 15, 1916, in Waterville; he died in 1972. Survivors include two daughters, Clare Belcher and Lavonne Wickland, both of Roundup; two brothers, Leo Burke of Butte and Mike Burke of Sunnyside, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Merle (Leona) Kanne of Elysian, Minn., and Ellen Brossard of Faribault Minn.; 14 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren. Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Monday in Wier Funeral Chapel. Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Benedicts Catholic Church with burial in Lavina Cemetery.
