Robert Wesley Haygood was born June 1st 1946 in Casper Wyoming the second of four children born to Warren and Laura Martin Haygood. Bob was always a rough and tumble cowboy from the word go. While the Haygood family lived in town he grew into a hardworking, honest, caring man on his family's ranch in the Bates Creek area of Casper. Here he could usually be found running wild, fixing fence, putting up hay, feeding livestock and building forts. Through his teen years he spent a lot of time on the Pathfinder Ranch with his best friend Mike Sandford. These two were a matched pair raising cane and causing a little bit of trouble all in the name of being true blue cowboys. Bob spent time in the army before returning home to Casper to start his career in the oil field. He was always a hard worker and many of his jobs kept him away from home and the ones he loved, even as far away as the North Slope of Alaska. He never complained about the lack of sleep or a little dirt on his hands, in fact he preferred it that way. While delivering fuel oil with his dad as just a little boy he met Carol Skogen. She would run out and sign tickets for her parents and while they were just kids at the time their roads would eventually lead them back to each other. The two were eloped to Virginia City, NV and that was that, they share deep love for one another that was truly unwavering. They were the best of friends and dance partners tearin' up the hardwood wherever their travels would take them. When Bob and Carol were married he gained a son. He loved Brad as his very own and was so proud of the man that he grew into. In 1986 he and Carol adopted Lacey J. with whom he shared a cherished father/daughter bond. He loved his kids with all his heart and spent countless hours making sure they were happy and most of all having fun! Later in life he enjoyed bragging about his two grandchildren Brayden and Brayleah and as long as they were smiling and happy you couldn't find a more proud man. Bob never met a stranger and lived his life with few regrets. His smile and bright blue eyes lit up a room and will forever be missed by all those who called him dad, pa, brother, uncle Bobby, Bob-Cat, and simply Bob. On January 9th, 2017, with his family at his side, he was welcomed onto the greatest dance floor of all by his beloved wife Carol. He was also proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents. He is survived by his son Brad (Christy) Barnish of California, daughter Lacey of Arizona, Grandson Brayden and Granddaughter Brayleah, Sister Carol of Sheridan and Brother Tom and Richard both of Casper as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. A memorial service is planned for Saturday February 4th at 1pm at Bustards funeral home with a dinner reception to follow.
