Mr. Abel was born on November 6, 1915, at West Baden Springs, Indiana.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth, of Dumont; one daughter, Mrs. Martha Kramer, Marshalltown; two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Allen, Converse, Indiana, and Mrs. Betty Meehan, West Baden, Indiana; four brothers, Lloyd and Roy, both of Mitchell, Indiana, Hayden, Rio Linda, California, and Foster, West Baden; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and one sister.
