She was born Friday, September 6, 1929 in Proctor, Oklahoma and was the daughter of the late James Freeman and the late Bertha (Mode) Freeman.
Helen grew up in Oklahoma but left school very early in age to help care for the family farm.
She married Joseph Burch on August 6, 1953, while he was in the military. He preceded her in death on January 7, 2004 and they spent 51 wonderful years together.
Helen devoted her life to being a housewife. She enjoyed managing the house while Joe was working. She would do all the ironing, cleaning, and gardening. Helen especially loved sewing, embroidery work, and quilting. Even though she didn't have much of an education, she was an avid reader. Helen put God at the forefront of her life and had read the bible cover to cover at least ten times or more during her life. She enjoyed watching television in her older age and you couldn't tear her away from her favorite program "Gunsmoke". Helen was also a caregiver; caring for her parents until their deaths, her husband until death, as well as her good friend, Marsha Gieselman's mother while she was ill.
Helen was a member of the Harrisonville Pentecostal Church. Her faith in her Lord Jesus was strong and she loved Him dearly. Helen always had a smile on her face and could brighten any room. She will be missed by all who came to know her.
Surviving are lifelong friends Ron and Marsha Gieselman and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Joseph Burch; one sister, Mamie Lee Cottrell.
