John Otto Aaland, age 85, went to be with our Lord, June 8, 2004. John was born March 11, 1919, in Oldham, SD, to Christopher and Ruth (Edmonds) Aaland.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Gladys (Lovaasen) Aaland, three daughters, Judy Raines, Sandra Jorgensen, and Deborah Sorensen, six grandchildren, and two great grandsons, one brother Curtis Aaland, and two sisters, Arlene Zapp and Ellen Shanks.
He was a member of Faith Covenant Church. John moved to Colorado Springs in 1959. He served in the Navy during WWII and was a carpenter for many years before retiring from Civil Service in 1983.
Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, June 11th, at the Shrine of Remembrance, 1730 E. Fountain Blvd.
Contributions may be made to the Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation, 825 E. Pikes Peak Ave, Ste 600, Colorado Springs, CO 80903-3624.
