Pat graduated from Walsh, Colo. High School in 1955, but spent most of her adult life in eastern Colorado and central Kansas. Pat began her 20-plus year career with Beech Aircraft Corporation in Salina in the mid-1960s. There she met Eldon Demuth, who she married on Sept. 3, 1983. They later moved to Wichita, until Eldon retired in 1994. After moving back to Salina in 1994, Pat ran the salad bar at Dillons in Salina for almost 10 years before retiring. Even after a lifetime of work, Pat would always say her lifelong achievement was being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Pat was the glue that held her family together and always put others before herself. Pat’s joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandkids and great-grandkids. Her grandkids would say she was the world’s best cook and always had the cleanest house in town. She also loved playing cards with her new neighborhood friends.
Pat is survived by her husband, Eldon Demuth of Salina; sons, Sam Eslick (Dee Dee) of Salina, and Gary Demuth (Marcia) of Salina; daughter, Denise Russell (Scott) of Lakewood, Colo.; sisters, Betty Abbott (Mel) of Salina, and Elsie Bitner of Holly, Colo.; grandchildren, Jay Eslick (Mandi) of Colorado Springs, Colo., Travis Eslick (Regina) of Colorado Springs, Amanda Foltz of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mitch Vaughn (Tiana) of Brighton, Colo., Myles Vaughn of Denver, Sheila Kjellberg of Salina, Patrick Heins of Wichita, Jesse Russell (Katie) of Seattle Wash., Annie Mann of Austin, Texas, and Shilo Crupper (Benji) of Cimarron; and great-grandchildren Ryan, Samantha, Jaxson, Kaydence, Greer, Marin, Garrett, Rachael, Zaven, Zoe, Emory and Greg.
Pat was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Cremation services were chosen. A Celebration of Life honoring Pat will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made in Pat’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association Heart of America Chapter in care of Ryan’s Mortuary.
