Susie R. Ramsey went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006 while at Hospice. Born Oct. 12, 1923 in Gilbertown, Ala., she was preceded in death by her second husband, Austin P. Ramsey; first husband, Delbert E. Poole; son, Delbert E. Poole II; brothers, Ben and Albert Abston; grandsons, Steven Poole and Doug Slusser.
Susie leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Cindy Fleet and Karen (Rodney) Wahl. She truly was an angel on Earth! Susie was a member of the Akron Baptist Temple and had worked for over 40 years in the Cradle Roll nursery. Cindy and Karen would like to thank the many family and friends that came to visit Mom while she was hospitalized at Akron General and the Hospice on Ridgewood Road and to the staff at Hospice.
Susie also leaves the following family members: grandsons, Eric (Terry) Fleet, Alex Fleet, Rodney Wahl II, Damon Poole, Matthew Poole, Steve Ramsey, Mike (Pepper) Slusser, Chris (Annie) White; granddaughters, Kelly (Joshua) Milkey, Kara Wahl, Cindy Moore, Kimberly (Brian) Dunn, Sherri (Bruce) Pieper, Lisa White, Joy (Jim) Lawrence, Jill (Vince) Heldreth, Julie (Wes) Johnston, Melissa Ramsey; step-son, Dr. Charles (Sylvia) Ramsey; stepdaughters, Patty White, Jerrie (Jim) Skidmore, Carolyn (Bob) Slusser, and Nancy (DuWayne) Hileman. She also leaves a host of greatgrandchildren, and special friends, Opal (John) Springer, Pearl Rose, and Marie McKee.
Friends may call at the Bacher Funeral Home, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will beheld at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Akron Baptist Temple, 2324 Manchester Rd., Rev. Ernie Kemppel and Rev. Scott Campbell officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Akron Baptist Temple Nehemiah Project.
