Nettie S. Waters
NEWCASTLE--Graveside services for Nettie S. Waters, 84, will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery, with Bryan Clark officiating.

Mrs. Waters died October 27, 1986 at Weston County Memorial Hospital. She was born August 20, 1902 in Wythe County, Virginia. At an early age, she moved with her family to Tilden, Nebraska, where she attended school.

In November 1920, she married James Abbott at Tilden. They moved to South Dakota in 1928 where they farmed near Oelrichs, South Dakota. In 1943, they moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota. Her husband preceded her in death.

In September 1964, she married Charlie Waters in Newcastle.

Mrs. Waters had been a resident of Weston Manor Nursing Home since April 1983.

Survivors are two sons, Robert Abbott of Upton and Charles Abbott of Newcastle; one daughter, Doris Halls of Newcastle; nine grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, two stepsons, three brothers and two sisters.

A memorial has been established to Weston County Memorial Hospital. The McColley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
