Billy Mac Ables, age 80 passed away December 9, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born June 7, 1940 near Dyersburg, TN and raised in Bogota, TN, the son of the late Walker Tom and Jim Kathelyne Reed Ables. He served in the Army during the Vietnam War. He worked for J & J Machine Shop as a Tool & Die Machinist in Dyersburg. He also worked for David Anderson as a machinist until his retirement in 2005.

He loved to fish and hunt, he loved to hunt anything and everything, his son Tommy says he was one of the best fisherman he ever knew. He was a Baptist in Belief.

Mr. Ables is survived by a son, Tommy Mac Ables (Jackie) of Henderson; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Peggy Ables of Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael B. Ables and two brothers, Tom Ross Ables and William Robert Ables.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, December 14th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with John Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Chester County Memory Gardens.
