MARY'S OBITUARY
Mary Beth Abbott passed away Friday, December 18, 2020 in Yukon, OK. She was born is Holdenville, OK to Otria and Freda Roberts on September 16, 1942. She was raised in Wetumka, OK where she had numerous family and friends. While growing up in Wetumka Mary Beth found her love of gardening, animals, fishing also, she was quite the marksman. She loved fishing so much she continued her passion throughout her life.

In 1961 Mary Beth graduated from Wetumka High School, in Wetumka OK. Over the next few years, she would have three beautiful daughters. In 1970, she would bring her daughters back home to Wetumka to raise. Mary Beth and her daughters Tammy, Beth and Amy had a mother/daughter bond like no other. She loved her daughters with the mightiest force of a Mother’s Love and moved mountains for them. After moving back home Mary Beth went back to school to pursue Nursing, she soon found employment at the clinic and Wetumka General Hospital. It is there while working she met David Abbott, little did she know he would become the Love of Her Life. In March of 1980, the two were Wed, David took Mary and her girls – now their girls and made a life in Yukon, OK. David was her Knight in Shining Armor – he made her every wish and dream a reality.

Mary Beth was a devoted wife and momma, she became a Master Gardener, an exceptionally talented artist. She could whittle spoons, build furniture, there was nothing she could not draw of paint. She loved making quilts for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary Beth also taught herself how to throw pots from her Muskogee Creek Heritage, where she won several prestigious awards,

In 1984, she took on a new role of being a Granny, which she embraced with open arms. David and Mary would welcome 8 beautiful grandchildren whom they loved greatly and are enormously proud of.
In 2009, they welcomed their first great-grandchild and now have 11 with the last being born in April of 2020.

Not only were David and Mary Beth husband and wife, but they were also the best of friends and were a wonderful example for their family and friends. When David retired, he and Mary Beth took an adventure of a lifetime, together both loved fishing, even going to Alaska for one of their many adventures. They would pack up their RV and travel the United States fishing and taking in all the beautiful sites, David loved taking Mary Beth on many amazing adventures, where she was able to see and experience things she had only dreamed of as a child.

Mary Beth was preceded in death by her parents, Otria and Freda Roberts, and sister, Lena Judith Walker.

She is survived by her husband, David T. Abbott of Yukon, OK; daughters: Tammeria Sue Fade, Beth Ann Fade and Amy Denise Duke and husband Jeffrey, all of Yukon, OK; grandchildren: Nicholas Hubbell and family of Suffolk, VA, Sarah Elms and family of Yukon, OK, Sgt. 1st Class Tucker Hubbell and family of Clarksville, TN, Jakoby Kopepasah of Yukon, OK, Madison Bogstrand and family of Oslo, Norway, Ian McRee and family of Moore, OK, Mason Eubanks and family of Kingfisher, OK, and Allie Betterton and family of Yukon, OK.

Viewing will be held 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 28, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
