Carl was born to Carl Christian Buhr and Adeline Buhr (Weirach) on August 23rd, 1925
at Oak Park, IL. Carl was the oldest of three children (sisters, Leona and Bonita).

When Carl was a young boy the family moved to 910 South Ave, North Mankato. Carl attended school in the Mankato School System and graduated from Mankato High School in 1943.

After graduation from High School Carl enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served from 1943 to 1946 during WWII and was called to active duty again in 1951 during the Korean War.

On January 11th,1951 Carl married Constance Beatrice Roberts at Judson MN. They had five sons, twelve grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Carl was a devoted family man. He loved just spending time with his family. With a little encouragement, he would play lively tunes on his accordion. He loved camping, hunting and fishing, and took his family on many camping trip vacations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Carl was employed for many years at Kato Engineering (Valley Machine) and Katolight Corp, and he often spoke fondly of his co-workers there. When he started at Valley Machine he worked in the shop, and by the time he retired he was Sales Manager at Katolight, traveling around the world for installations.

Carl's faith was extremely important to him throughout his life, and was a comfort to him in his last days. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church.
