He attended the Palmer Church of God before his health declined and was a retired Steel Mill worker.
He is survived by his daughters, Kimberly (Frog) Northcutt and Kathy Birch; brothers, Linuel (Mildred) Tate, Phillip Tate and David (Karen) Tate; sisters, Ruth (Lloyd) McGee, Jewell (Ronnie) Akins and Annie Mae (late Cotton) King; 7 grandchildren, Felicia (Jeremiah) Curtis, Whitney (Cody Nunley) Northcutt, Courtney (Bo Rymer) Tate, Tori and Scott Tate, Josh (Megan) Sells and Casey (Sarah) Sells and Austin Burch; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Brett Meeks officiating with burial to follow in the Fall Creek Cemetery. Visitation 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM Sunday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
