Sharon Kay Stevens Aaron, 70 years of age, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, formerly of Somerset, Kentucky, departed this life on Sunday, August 23rd, 2020 at Woodside Care Center in Pinellas Park, Florida.
Sharon was born in Pikeville, Kentucky on March 10th, 1950, daughter of the late Hayden Stevens and Marguerite Stapleton Sparks. She was a bookkeeper and office manager most of her life until her early retirement due to health reasons. When she was healthier she loved to travel and visit new places. Sharon loved hearing about all of the adventures and accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was a veteran of the United States Navy having served has an Airman Apprentice during the Vietnam War.
Sharon was survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Marshall Aaron, whom she married on January 23rd, 1970; four children, Marsha (and Michael) Lawson of Somerset, Kentucky, Micah (and Janet) Aaron of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Chelsea (and Nick) Vaughn of Port St Joe, Florida, and Brittany Aaron (and Alex) of Somerset, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Sadie Brinson, Aleah Aaron, Ezra Aaron, Jack Vaughn, Belle Vaughn, Gavin Lawson, Ava Lawson, and Bo Vaughn; one great grandson, Braxton Aaron; one sister Melissa (and Kenny) Webb of Springfield, Ohio; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hayden Stevens and Marguerite Stapleton Sparks; and three brothers, William Michael Stevens, Alan Keith Stevens, and Eddie Hayden Stevens.
Visitations were held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28th, 2020 at the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28th, 2020 in the Chapel of the Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Burial followed in the Mill Springs National Cemetery in Nancy, Kentucky.
