Former Harris County Sheriff John H. Adams, 77 of Pine Mountain Valley, GA died, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Piedmont Northside Medical Center, Columbus, GA. Mr. Adams was born September 2, 1943 in Eclectic, AL the son of Samuel Ferrell Adams and Clarise Thrash Adams.
Mr. Adams was a former Truck Driver prior to becoming a deputy sheriff. After three years of being a deputy he was elected as Sheriff of Harris County. Mr. Adams retired as an investigator for the Secretary of State.
He was a Past Master for the Hamilton Masonic Lodge # 16, a Scottish Rite Mason, and a Shriner. He was a Marshall for Callaway Gardens Golf Courses. He enjoyed playing golf, cards and hunting with his buddies. Mr. Adams loved his family spending time with his them especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Frances Carol Adams.
He is survived by his daughters Debra Gomez and her husband Rene of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, Julie Ellerbee of Cataula, GA, son John David Adams of Pine Mountain Valley, GA, brothers Stanley Adams of Phenix City, AL and Danny Adams and his wife Joyce of Waverly Hall, GA, sister Sharon Nichols of Columbus, GA, grandchildren Clarissa Carol Chaudoin, Jonathan Douglas Jones, Daniel Rene Gomez, Jessica Nicole Ellerbee, Joshua Adam Ellerbee, Shaun David Adams and great-grandchildren Everett, Norah, Julian, Camille, Cooper, Kadence and Garrett.
