Mrs. Kronberg was born in Mount Holly, NC to the late Worth Gaston Abbott and Bessie Mae Hayes Abbott. She was very proud that during WWII, she worked as a TELEX operator for Western Union. Bettie was a member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and the Hope Group of the church. She was also a devoted member of the Page Turners Book Club.
Surviving are a son, Glenn Ashe; three daughters, Denise Morton and husband Keith, Gayle Schreyer and husband Ray, and Donna Davenport; a sister, Charlotte Beachum; six grandchildren, Alan Ashe and wife Christy, Alicia Davenport, Jessica Morton, James Ashe, Jonathan Davenport and wife Cheryl, and Catherine Cantrell and husband Dave; and seven great-grandchildren, Trent, Caden, Reese, Owen, Michael, Maggie and Emma. She was predeceased by a sister, Edith Fortner; and a daughter-in-law, Donna Ashe.
