Stanley Samuel Abrahamsen Jr., age 61, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021. Stanley was born April 8, 1959 to Stanley Samuel Abrahamsen, Sr. and Lucy Daigle Abrahamson.
Stanley was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Creole. He enjoyed spending time with family and having huge family and friend cookouts, especially boiling crawfish. Stanley adored everyone of his grandchildren and always spent as much time as he could with them.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 32 years, Theresa Giroir Abrahamsen of Creole; son, Samuel Abrahamsen and wife Jessica of Cameron; daughter Lucy Abrahamsen of Lake Charles; step daughters, Jessica and husband Travis Menard of Sulphur and Melissa and Anthony Theriot of Cameron; sister, Stella and husband Gary Sturgill of Indiana; grandchildren, Adia, and Nikko January, Blanin Sorroells, Jhalea, Ana, Harlee, and Brendon Menard; Shawanda and Kelly Guidry, Alex and Blake Theriot; niece, Theresa Sturgill; nephew, Gary Sturgill; and Great Niece, Shaylee.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Inga Abrahamsen Leatherwood; and grandson, Matthew Menard.
Visitation services will be held on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles beginning at 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. with a rosary to be prayed at 6:00 p.m. and will reopen at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 until the procession leaves for the church at 12:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Margaret Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment will be immediately following at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Creole.
