James Clyde Adams, 64, of Lanexa, Va., died Friday, March 2, 2001, at Williamsburg Community Hospital after suffering a massive stroke. Born in Blairsville, Ga., 1937, he had lived in James City and New Kent County for the past 50 years. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and owned and operated family business (Adams Brothers Logging) for over 30 years. Clyde will be remembered for his warm smile, and always had a joke to tell. His love for fishing and hunting was known by all.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Ed and Alice Adams, two brothers, John P. Adams and William Pat Adams.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at Vincent Funeral Home, West Point, Va., by the Rev. David Riley. Interment will be in Williamsburg Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank Clyde's many friends for all their love and support during his stay in the hospital.
