Evelyn Faye Abercrombie Little Humphries, age 91, of Douglasville, Georgia passed away Monday, April 12, 2021. A native of Douglasville, she was born November 28, 1929. She enjoyed catering for others and cooking big meals for her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Evelyn worked as a seamstress alongside her daughter at Swinson's. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening. She was a member of Heritage Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death were her husband of 30 years, Jessie Winston Little, Jr.; her parents, Roy and Minnie Faye (Leathers) Abercrombie; daughter, Rebecca Little; son, Rex Little; brothers, William Abercrombie, James S. Abercrombie, Charles M. Abercrombie; and sisters, Martha Ruth Lowery and Madeline Marie Abercrombie.
Those left to cherish her memory are son, Ricky Little; daughters, Deborah (Dwight) Meadows and Brenda Kelsoe, five grandchildren, Brandy (Jon) Walton, Jessica Bell, Travis Little, Tracy Little and Justin Little; many great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy McDonald Abercrombie, Robert S. (Linda) Abercrombie, and David Robin Abercrombie; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Heritage Baptist Church on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM with Reverend Brian Berryhill officiating. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at Douglasville City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of Evelyn Little Humphries to Heritage Baptist Church, 8800 Rose Avenue, Douglasville, Georgia 30134.
