Jesse M. Allen – 79 of Lakeland passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 at his residence. He was born on May 28, 1939 to the late David & Lyda (Partin) Allen in Pleasant Grove, NC. He served his country for over 11 years in the United States Air Force. Continuing his service to his country, he worked with the Supply Squadron at Moody Air Force Base for over 28 years until his retirement. Jesse loved his Lord and Savior and was a very active member of Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a deacon for over 40 years. He loved painting, drawing and gardening, particularly daylilies. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters: Leah Smith, Louise Simmons, Louvenia Roberts, Eunice Otto, Ellie Ruth Tyler & Ann Underwood; brothers: Billy Ray Allen, S.D. Allen & George L. "Tommy" Allen and father-in-law & mother-in-law: Gordon & Ludelle Brantley.
Survivors Include: Wife of 53 years, Mary Linda Allen, Lakeland; Daughter & Son-in-law: Tami & Don Fender, Lakeland; Special Nephew & Niece: Brad & Kristie Hurst , Tifton; Extended Daughter: Cheryl Bonham, Nashville; Sisters-in-law: Mattie Brantley, Blythe, GA, Mary Allen, Smithfield, NC and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, July 15, 2018 in the Camp Creek Missionary Baptist Church with burial following in the church cemetery. He will be placed in the church 1 hour prior to the services. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday evening, July 14, 2018 at the funeral home.
