Dossie Mae Parker, 82, of Columbus died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Parker formerly worked at Sears and the Surrey Inn in Columbus and Bill Riddle's Café in Glasgow, Ky. She loved to cook and sew.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Rev. Larry Fields officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.

Born in Wisdom, Ky., March 17, 1925, Mrs. Parker was the daughter of Joe Tom and Fannie Lee Stepheson Moore.

She is survived by daughters, Janet (Charles) Houchens of Taylorsville, Dottye Odle of Athens, Tenn., and Teresa (Randy) Jeffers of Perrysville; a son, Gary (Micha) Abner of Davenport, Iowa; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Rita Fay Abner; sisters, Etta Pickett and Bertha Allbright; and a brother, Floyd Pierce.

COLUMBUS, Ind. – Dossie Mae Parker, 82, formerly of Glasgow, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2007, at the Willow Crossing Health & Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on March 17, 1925, in Wisdom, Ky., and was a daughter of the late Joe Tom and Fannie Lee Stephenson Moore. She was a former employee in Columbus of Sears and Surrey Inn and had worked for Bill Riddle's Cafe in Glasgow. She loved to cook and sew.

Funeral services will be today at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Larry Fields officating at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street in Columbus, Ind. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Edinburgh, Ind. Friends may call after 10 a.m. today until service time at the funeral home.
