Eugene Clarence Abbott Jr., 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at his home in Newalla, Oklahoma.

Eugene was born on January 22, 1938 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to the late Eugene Abbott and Genola Faye (Elliston) Abbott. He graduated from New Lima and joined the U.S. Air Force in May of 1955. When he returned home from Boot Camp, he married the love of his life, Rosie Ivon Westfall.

He served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1960 as an Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic. He worked for General Motors as a Pipe Fitter and retired after 30 years. After ten years of retirement, he went to work for Tinker Air Force Base as a Sheet Metal Mechanic on the same airplanes that he worked on while serving in the Air Force over 60 years earlier. Eugene was a Master 32nd Degree of Del City Masonic Lodge. He also owned/operated Stella Gospel Recording Company from 1991 through 2020.

Preceding him in death are his parents Eugene Abbott and Genola Faye Abbott, son Robert Wayne Abbott, sister Janet Sue Finney, and brother Joseph Dale Abbott.

Survivors include his wife Rosie Ivon Abbott of the home, son John David Abbott Sr. of Tahlequah, daughter Rebecca Lynn Abbott-Mernieks of Newalla. son James Warren Abbott and wife Mechele of Moore, daughter Rosetta Faye Abbott-Geis and husband Jarod Geis of Newalla, sister Shirley Faye Adcock of OKC, sister-in-law JoAnn Abbott of Stratford, brother Roger Elbert Abbott and wife Christine of Hurst, TX, brother David Ray Abbott and wife Marlene of Grand Junction, CO, brother-in-law Tom Finney of OKC, sister Janice Gallarneau and husband Cliff of OKC, sister Sharon Annette Martin of OKC, brother-in-law Harvey Fix of Ponca City, 12 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and many, many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, May 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Liberty Christian Center, 1121 S. Post Road, Midwest City, Oklahoma 73130. Officiating will be David Dumbleton and Linda Stanberry. Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at Oakwood Cemetery in Wewoka, Oklahoma.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Jo Abbott, Michael Butler, Jarod Geis, Gabriel Tew, Tom Bjerke, and Todd Gunter.

Honorary Pallbearers: John David Abbott and James Warren Abbott.
