June Kathleen Wofford, age 74 of Cookeville passed from this life Monday, June 14, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was born Thursday, November 7, 1946, in Rockwood to the late Raymond Abels and the late Mary K. (Lequire) Abels.

June was a loving Sister, Aunt, and friend to all who knew her. She was a member of Caney Fork Baptist Church and loved taking care of the kitchen at church. She worked several years for Abel Gardens and worked as Secretary for her brother Ray after that. She loved her cat Scruffy.

June is survived by her sisters: Betty Lowe of Cookeville and Jane (Ray) Crawhorn of Kingston; brother: Ray Abels of Cookeville; nephews: Travis Lowe of North Carolina, Erick Lowe of Cookeville, and Randy Abels of Kingston; and special friend: Liz Abels.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Donald Ray Wofford and brother-in-law: Glen Lowe.

Funeral services for June were held Friday, June 18, 2021 from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Thornton and Bro. Danny Hembree officiating. Interment followed in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
