Roxann (Harmer) Ackerman, loving wife of husband Michael Ackerman, passed away on April 22, 2021 surrounded by her family after a short battle with cancer.

Roxann was born on July 22, 1953. The second of four children born to Lowell and Darlene Harmer, she was raised in Sioux Falls and graduated from Washington High School. She was a fiercely private person who enjoyed nothing more than crafting, watching high-drama reality television, and being surrounded by her family.

As a single mother who raised her three daughters alone after leaving an abusive marriage, Roxann's life was not an easy one. Fortunately for her children, she was a strong-willed woman who never gave up, and she set an example of strength and perseverance for her daughters.

Despite losing a piece of herself when her youngest daughter was tragically killed, Roxann continued to seek happiness and found it when she met Mike. Over the past twenty years, that happiness was compounded with the birth of each of her grandchildren.

Roxann is survived by her husband Mike, her daughters Jennifer (Andy) Boeyink and Breann Meyer, grandchildren Makayla, KyLee, Emma, Paxton, and great-granddaughter Oaklynn, parents Lowell and Darlene Harmer, and siblings Terry Rideout and Randy Harmer.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Dana Levasseur and brother Lowell Harmer Jr.
