"Jay" was born in Webster County MO April 24 1928 to "Ed" and "May" Elvington Stinecipher. He met and married Verna Jean Arnett in Craig Colorado September 19 1948, they had "a tent, 11 dollars and a horse that limped" one day while taking trash to the dump in his bosses pick up he noticed large boxes of license plates that had been thrown away by the county, he gathered them up and took them to the local salvage dealer and made some real $$, the start of his life long career of dismantling and salvage sales. he lived and worked all over the western slope of Colorado since 1948 , he lived in Craig, Rifle, Nucla, Naturita, Parachute, and Grand Junction and probably a few other places.
"Jay" leaves behind His wife Verna Jean, his son Bobby Jay (Jeri) Stinecipher and children Katelyn and Jay Baron of Grand Junction, 5 daughters, Sharon (Kevin) Howard of Fort Collins her two Daughters, Bobbie Jean Bunn ( and great grand daughters Jaymie and Jessica)and Dawna Rule ( and great grandson Cody), Debbie Moore (Ray) and children Toni, Michael, Cristi and Raymond all of Salem OR., Tammy (John) Praetorius and children Ryan and Adam Bosco of Glenwood Springs CO., Robin Stinecipher and children Randy Stinecipher, Steven, Amber and Tracey Marshall of Palisade., and Sandy Spurger and children Jennifer and David. also one brother Jim Stinecipher and Three Sisters and their families Mary Isabel "Belle" Weeler, Rena May "Billie" Sleater and Lena Fay Thoroughman.

Jay was preceded in death by one Daughter Patsey May, his father "Ed" Stinecipher and one Brother Ezra H. Stinecipher

Grave side services were held at 4 pm at Memorial Gardens Cem. Wednesday June 6, 2001. Arrangements were under Martin Mortuary
