A funeral mass for Lawrence W. A'Hearn, 71, Lawrence, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with the Rev. Michael Scully officiating. Burial will be at Mount Calvary Cemetery.

Mr. A'Hearn died Friday, June 14, 1991, at the Charlton Methodist Hospital in Dallas, following a sudden illness.

He was born March 22, 1920, near Avon, Ill., the son of Russell A'Hearn and Lucille Hollister A'Hearn Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his stepfather, Charles Wilson.

Mr. A'Hearn had been a resident of Lawrence for the past 30 years. He had retired after 45 years as a pharmeceutical representative, and most recently he worked part time for the Lawrence school district.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, during which he served in the Philippines. He was a member of Dorsey-Liberty Post No. 14 of the American Legion in Lawrence, and of St. John Catholic Church. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, gardening, bird watching and Kansas University sports.

He married Dorothy Schatz on Feb. 21, 1943, in New York, N.Y. She survives of the home.

Other survivors include three daughters, Maureen Wustefeld, Lawrence, Laurie Kelly, Garland, Tex., and Coleen A'Hearn, Fort Collins, Colo.; a son, Lawrence Jr., Jamica, N.Y.; two brothers, Russell A'Hearn Jr. and Eugene Wilson, both of Galesburg, Ill.; a sister, Margaret Hickerson, Avon; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
