Lela Marie Hey Acre was born October 1, 1930 in Stonington, Colorado to Helen La Reau Hey and Edward Thomas Hey and passed away on July 11, 2021.

Funeral services for long time Baca County resident were held in Walsh, Colorado July 15, 2021 at the Walsh Cemetery. Pastor Daniel Bradford officiating.

While growing up Lela attended many schools during her life. After her Senior year she married Ben Acre Sr. on March 30, 1948 in Raton, New Mexico. To this union 3 children were born.

During Lela's life she worked various jobs and retired in 1987. She loved her work and being around people.

Lela accepted the Lord as her Savior on January 2, 1983. She attended the Walsh First Baptist Church and considered Pastor Daniel Bradford a good friend. She loved when Daniel and his family came to visit.

Lela was preceded in death by her Father, Ed Hey of Tahlequah, OK; her Mother Helen Hey of Lamar, CO; her husband Ben Acre Sr.; her brothers Pete Hey of Monte Vista, CO and Tom Hey of Oklahoma City, OK; her sisters Grace Doyle, Lamar, CO, Kay Konkel, Vilas, CO and Cecilia Tatum, La Junta, CO; her Son Benny Acre and daughter in-law Vicki Acre of Walsh Co and her grandson Terrill Litz of Phoenix, AZ.
