She and twin sister Caroline grew up in Presto until 1944, when the family moved to Lavaside. Katherine enjoyed riding horses and swimming and developed a great love for animals. After graduating from Firth High School and Idaho Falls LDS Hospital School of Nursing, she worked as a nurse for a short time . She and Leonard were engaged after a short courtship then married on April 11, 1958, at the home of Katherine's parents. They lived for a short time in a trailer house in Arco then on a farm near Arco, where their five children were born. In 1968 they moved to Wapello, where they completed raising their family and resided the rest of their lives. She was an excellent cook and seamstress. She made the most beautiful clothing for daughters and granddaughters. She also gardened and grew gorgeous flowers that she used to make stunning arrangements. She loved cats and watching the birds. Survived by children Steven, Julie (Nolin) Crook, Lisa, Linda (Mike) Park, and Philip (Andrea) plus eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Services held Saturday, August 7th directed by Nalder Funeral Home in Shelley.
