OBITUARY

Clarence Louis Abernathy was born on January 20, 1925 in Lunenburg County, VA to Arthur and Rosa Winn Abernathy. He departed this life and entered eternal rest on Saturday December 23, 2006 at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Farmville, VA. He received his education in the Lunenburg County School system.

Being a young man, Clarence was drafted into the United States Army where he served his country and was honorably discharged in 1946. At an early age, he joined Bethany Baptist Church and remained a member until his death. Clarence's life employment was Truck Driving and this he loved with a passion. In 1947 he joined in Holy Matrimony to Mary Lillian Wilson.

Preceded him in death: his parents; two sisters, Audrey and Cordila; his twin brother Edward and after 59 years of marriage, his wife Mary Lillian Abernathy, on April 25, 2006. He leaves to cherish his memory: one daughter, Tracy Abernathy of NY; three brothers: Alfonzo and Richard Abernathy of Kenbridge, VA; and Hurie Abernathy of Montclair, NJ; three sisters-in-law: Virginia Abernathy of NJ, Naomi Abernathy of Kenbridge, VA and Theresa Abernathy of Victoria, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
