Fred Phillip Cordova, Jr. age 86 passed away on August 19, 2021. He was born May 26, 1935 in Sopras, Colorado to his parents Fred Cordova, Sr. and Blanch Domiguez.
Fred grew up in Trinadad, CO., Rock Springs, WY., and Denver, CO. He met his wife Mary of 66 years in Denver, CO. They had three children, Linda, Glen and Nick. He moved to Dallas in 1962, where he managed and later owned the Charco Broiler Steak House for 35 years. Which after years of success it became a Dallas landmark. The business still operates today with the help of his sons and grandson. He was a loving and kind husband and father who worked hard to provide for his family. He always had a smile and was always willing to help people. He loved fishing on Lake Granbury where he lived for 25 years after retirement. His hobbies were watching sports, fishing and restoring his 1957 chevy.
Fred and his brothers were boxers in their younger years, at the age 10 to 15. He worked at an auto body shop which is where he got his skill to restore his 1957 chevy. He enjoyed motocross racing and made many friends in the motorcycle world. He was a big supporter of the American Breed, American Motorcycle Association and the Texas Motorcycle Association. He sponsored and supported many riders to compete in local motocross races from 1974 to 1982.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Donnie.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Cordova and daughter, Linda Keetch; sons, Glen Cordova and Nick Cordova; grandchildren, Kristen Jarvis, Kyle Keetch, Melisa Erragunta, Broc Cordova and Monica Terry; great grandchildren, Landry, Handley, Connor, Carson, Nicholas, Andrea, William, Elijuah, Nakya, Nessa, Leighton and London; brothers, Leroy, George, and Gary; Sisters, Irene, Sandra and Betty.
Funeral service will be held 11am on Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Little Bethel Memorial Park.
The family has invited for all quests in attendance after the graveside to come and enjoy lunch and fellowship at the Charco Broiler Steak House, 413 W. Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, Texas 75208.
