Glade Taylor Lienberger passed away on July 22, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, at the age of 94. He was born on June 18, 1919 to Elsie Myrtle (Taylor) and Marsdon M. Lienberger on a farmstead near Randall, Kansas.

Glade graduated from Randall High School on May 20, 1938 and then joined the Signal Corp, U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1945. He was stationed in London, England. When in the states he was stationed in San Antonio, Texas. He met Oral Mae Harsha in Courtland, Kansas and they later married in San Antonio on September 9, 1942.

When he was discharged from the Air Force they lived in Wichita, Kansas where Glade farmed and raised prize winning collies. In 1952 they adopted DeAnne after she lived with them for three years. In January of 1953 Glade moved to Phillipsburg to start work at the CRA Refinery. Mae followed in March. In June they were blessed with another daughter, Shelley Jo. Glade worked at the CRA Refinery until his retirement on August 2, 1982.

After his retirement Mae and Glade became snowbirds with their RV. They enjoyed this for many years until Mae's death in 1991.

On September 30, 1995 Glade married Esther Kamin in Phillipsburg. Glade liked to travel, so they, too, became snowbirds.

One of his favorite trips was the veteran's Honor Trip to Washington, DC. He enjoyed that trip and was always ready to talk about it.

Glade was a fisherman at heart; it was one of his favorite pastimes. In fact, the day before he passed away he went fishing on the Republican River where he landed the biggest fish and the most fish of the day! Another pastime was playing snooker on his table and beating all who challenged him. He loved to dance and after teaching Esther how to square dance they made the rounds!

His other love was his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Glade was loved by all kids. He was a very gentle and sweet man.

The men at the Senior Center will miss him as they always got together in the afternoons to play cards, which was another passion.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Mae, brothers Howard and Gerald and sister Darlene, brother-in law Jack Harsha and his daughter DeAnne Inez Schnelle.

He is survived by his wife Esther of the home, daughter Shelley Jo and husband Eldon of Phillipsburg, sister Betty St. John of Hastings, Nebraska, son-in-law Hayden Schnelle of Lavernia, Texas, grandsons Clinton Bass and wife Misty of Boerne, Texas, Scott Bass and wife Kimberlee of Lavernia, Texas, Ryan Smith and wife Amanda and granddaughter Wendy Keef and husband Harold. He had seven great grandchildren Amanda, Rebecca, Clinton Jr. and Michael Bass, Kendall and Garret Bass, Brecklyn and Brynlee Smith and Mae Keef. He had one great great grandchild Cayden. Esther has five children and he thought the world of them and they did of him.
