Mrs. Ursula Bell Akers, 79, of 2465 Commercial St. NE, died Wednesday in a nursing home.
A minister of the Faith Tabernacle Church and a former private nurse, Mrs. Akers had been a resident of Salem for 28 years. She came here from Silverton.
Born at Chillicothe, Mo., Jan. 17, 1882, Mrs. Akers moved to Silverton from Montana in 1920. Her husband Franklin Leroy Akers, a Silverton area farmer, died in 1936.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Fred Ross and Mrs. Eldred Landon, both of Salem, and Mary Elizabeth Akers, Torrance, Calif.; a son, Justus Akers, Dallas; brother, Jake Ingleheart, Salem; sister, Mrs. Rosie Ward, Hayden Lake, Idaho; 23 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
Funeral services are pending at the Howell-Edwards Funeral Home.
