Douglas Wayne Ackley, 69, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Morton County Health Care, Elkhart, KS.

He was born to Hubert Thomas Ackley and Lenora Abercrombie on June 2, 1951, Watsonville, CA.

Patricia Taylor and Douglas Ackley were married on June 1, 1985, in Moscow, KS.

Douglas loved his family and enjoying spending time with the grandchildren. He enjoyed race cars, monster trucks and sprint cars. He loved going to zoo to see the Bald Eagles with his family.

Survivors include wife Patricia Ackley, Ulysses, KS.; son, Thomas Ackley and wife Jeannie, Ulysses, KS.; daughter, Amber Johnston, Salt Lake City, UT.; sister, Cindy Owens, Las Vegas, NV.; Brother-in-law, Bob Rackley, Sacramento, CA.; 4 grandchildren, Anna Ackley, Kailynn Johnston, Taylor and Tyson Ackley and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ernest Ackley, sister, Patricia Rackley and brother-in-law, Mike Owens.

A memorial has been established to Lee Richardson Zoo, Garden City, KS. Memorials may be mailed to Robson Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St. Ulysses, KS 67880.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 22, 2020, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Robson Funeral Home, Ulysses.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Ulysses Cemetery, Ulysses, KS, at 10 a.m.
