He didn't appreciate all the moving his family did when he was young, but looking back and reflecting with the myriad of friends he had (of which you all are evidence), he grew to remember it fondly.
Josh met the love of his life, Heidi, during very tough times in both of their lives. Together they forged an incredible relationship that withstood challenges few couples could have survived.
In 1999, all four of Pam's boys (and she did he have four boys-make no mistake about that) played soccer on the same pitch.
Josh worked hard, played hard, loved strong, and passion guided every part of his life surrounding the people and things he loved. He was quick to use his talents to help others. Josh jumped right in to help Luke install the sprinkler system and deck for their first home. Josh cultivated a love for the outdoors in his children by keeping Tyler and Kaylee camping, hunting, climbing, and snowboarding.
We chose Josh's name for the Joshua who commanded the campaign to lead Israel into the Promised Land. It's fitting that the verse Tyler thought should be the theme for his funeral should be Joshua 1:9
"Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
We'll all miss Josh and as a dear friend from Virginia wrote, we trust Josh finds in Heaven the peace he did not here on Earth.
Josh was laid to rest in Florissant Pioneer Cemetery, next to his brother, Luke, on May 10, 2020. The heart with pine cones appears on day and no one has claimed making it.
