William David Abadie was born in Brownsville, TX. September 27, 1880, the son of Basil and Josephine Abadie. He passed away April 25 at his home near Glenrock, and funeral services were held April 28 at the Community Church in Glenrock with the Rev. Roy Plummer officiating. Burial was in the Glenrock Cemetery.
Mr. Abadie came to Wyoming in 1896 to work at the Two Bar Ranch near Cheyenne, later moving to the Governor Brooks Ranch near Casper where he broke horses. He also worked for Senator J.M. Carey and Brothers at Careyhurst before settling his homestead in 1908 seven miles South East of Glenrock where he lived until his death.
On Novber 2, 1907 he was united in marriage with Addie C. Clayton, daughter of Thomas and Alice Clayton. Mr. Clayton was a famous rider with Buffalo Bill and was known as "Jerky Bill".
Mr. Abadie is survived by his wife, Addie.
Out of town guests who attended the services included Mrs. Abadie's brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Clayton of Tucson, Arizona; her sister, Mrs. Mary D. Wells of Tacoma, Washington; a niece, Mrs. Gilbert Porter, and daughter, Antonio of Portsmouth, Ohio.
