Ludwig Roland Aberle, 94, of Homosassa, died January 22, 2012.
Born June 1, 1917, in New York City, he graduated from the University of Alabama and served for four years as an officer in the U.S. Army. He received his MBA and Ph.D. degrees from NYU as well as a CPA certificate. He worked at Bigelow Sanford and General Foods Corp. in finance and accounting. He left the corporate world and joined the faculty at Franklin and Marshall College and received his full Professorship in Economics and Accounting at Marshall University. Before retiring, Dr. and Mrs. Aberle spent several years in Japan and Germany, where he lectured in Economics and Accounting in the Overseas Division of the University of Maryland. He moved to retire in Ft. Lauderdale in 1976, and for 26 years he served as Visiting Professor to graduate students at Florida Atlantic University, Florida Institute of Technology and Nova University. In 2002, he moved to Homosassa. He was active at the First United Methodist Church of Homosassa and was an avid Philatelist.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy; his three children; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a daughter-in-law.
