Funeral services for Edward Hinzmann were held at the First Congreational church Saturday. Mr. Hinzmann died last Wednesday following a lingering illness. He was 59 years old.
He was born near Western October 18, 1890, the son of Ferdinand and Wilhelmina Hinzmann, early pioneer settlers of North Fork precinct. He spent his youth in the vicinity of Western engaged in farming.
On November 20, 1913, he was married to Miss Anna Louise Henk of Western. Three sons and one daughter were born to the union.
In the spring of 1943 the Hinzmann family moved to Crete, where he was employed by the Crete Mills until two years ago when he became ill. He was a member of the St. John's Evangelical and Reformed church at Western and the Grain Millers Union.
Survivng besides his wife, Anna are three sons, Harold and Theodore of Crete and Harold of Graettinger, Iowa.; one daughter, Viola of Crete; two brothers, August and Herman of Crete; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Matzke and Mrs. Minnie Gross of Western and Mrs. Lena Abitz of Onaga, Kan.; two granddaughters and one grandson and many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Strothman, Mrs. Leslie Jarchow, Mr. and Mrs. Milo Schwisow, Mr. and Mrs. Schwan Sr., and family and Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Schwan Jr., attended the funeral of Edward Hinzmann at Crete last week. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Lincoln. Mr. Hinzmann was a brother-in-law of Mrs. Wm. Schwan, and father-in-law, of Mrs. Lorna (Strothman) Hinzmann of Crete.
