Robert Carl "Bob" Abbott, age 67 of Tipton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at his home surrounded in comfort by his daughters and sister, Michelle. He was born March 31, 1954 in Elwood, the son of Floyd and Leola (Parry) Abbott. Bob attended Elwood schools. He retired in 2003 from State Plating in Elwood where he worked in maintenance for over 20 years. Bob also formerly worked at Goodyear in Tipton; worked for his father-in-law's auto repair business; and sold fire alarms for a few years. He was an excellent mechanic and could fix anything. Bob married Linda Sue Roller on September 16, 1972, and they shared over 44 years of marriage together before her passing in 2017.

Bob was an accomplished musician and was best known for singing and playing the guitar. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping trips with family, playing cards, and playing dice and craps. Bob was known for being quite the jokester, but he was absolutely devoted to his family and will be remembered as an excellent provider. He formerly was active in a C-B radio club, and his handle was "Blue Knight". Bob especially liked to help other people in need and was known for contributing to organizations that helped others. In recent years, he enjoyed a simple life in his home and enjoyed watching westerns and sports. Bob will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He has been reunited with Linda in Heaven which gives his family great comfort.

Bob's family legacy includes two daughters, Kimie (Chuck) Bell of Tipton and Lee Ann Martz of Elwood; two siblings, Mike (Mary) Abbott of Elwood and Michelle Scholl (Trent Hicks) of Elwood; 4 grandchildren, Meghan Yocum, Martin (Hannah) Yocum, Chris (Alexis) Bell, and Madelyn Bell; 2 great-grandchildren, Lillian Yocum and Gabriel Yocum; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and several nieces, newphews, and good friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Abbott; sister, Linda Hamm; and brother, Rex Abbott.

Bob's celebration of life service will be private at Copher-Fesler-May Funeral Home in Elwood with his son-in-law, Chuck Bell officiating. Burial will take place privately at a later date.
