Douglas Gene Abbott, 56, of Branson, Missouri, formerly of Red Oak, died March 6, 1985, of a stroke, at Veterans' Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, following a lengthy illness.
The son of Adam and Bonnie (Jones) Abbott, he was born April 9, 1928, in Percival, Iowa. In 1954 at Red Oak, he was married to Darlene Milgrove, who survives.
A Veteran of WW II, he owned the Rainbow Cafe in Red Oak, Iowa and later worked for the Iowa Highway Commission.
Also surviving are two sons, Rocky of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and A.G. Abbott of Branson; Two daughters, Linda of Tacoma, Washington, and April, at home; Mother, Bonnie Abbott of Stanton; four brothers, Jerry of Red Oak, John and Danny, both of Omaha, and Joe of San Leandro, California; Five sisters, Bonnie Elkins of Emerson, Carmen of Cedar Rapids, Sharon of Chicago, Dixie of Concord, California, and Margie of Tucson, Arizona.
Funeral Services at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 9, 1985 at Whechel Funeral Chapel. Clergy, Carl Wallace. Pallbearers, Joe Doyle, Sam Brown, Bud Lewis, Keith Bloomquist, Tommy Villers, Sam Nash, Andy Cartin, Tony Uchtman, Jerry Sprano, Bill Aldridge, Junior Key, and Neal Youngblood. Interment- Lewallen Cemetery, Branson, Missouri.

Douglas Eugene Abbott, son of Adam Jesse Abbott and Bonnie Cecil Margurette Jones, was born April 9, 1928 in Percival, Iowa and died March 6, 1986 in Columbia, Missouri. He married Juanita Maxine Mains in 1947. They had 5 children, Linda Lou, Richard "Rocky", Margarette Marlene, Lloyd Albert, and a baby girl. They got divorced and the children were adopted out. He married Darlene Jane Milgrove and they had two children, AG and April.
