Joshua Adam Abbott, Sr., 40, of Knightstown entered God's Glory Friday, December 17, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1981 in Muncie, In. He was the son of Darrell and Laura May (Smith) Abbott.

He was a man of God and a member of Current Church in Franklin, IN. He was a devoted husband and father. Joshua earned his Associates Degree in Diesel Mechanic Management from Lincoln Tech, where he met the love of his life, Amanda with whom he has enjoyed 18 years of marriage. He worked for CSX Transportation, Avon Yard for 12 years as a Diesel Mechanic. He was a former Scout Master for the Boy Scouts of Blue River Valley Schools. He enjoyed history, working in his garage and was an avid reader. Joshua had a great sense of humor, loved food and would try anything. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting guns, knives, history books and napping.

He is survived by his wife, Amanda (Lewman) Abbott and son, Joshua Abbott, Jr. of Knightstown; mother, Laura Smith of Muncie; step father, Walter "Dave" Scharbrough of Mt. Summit; brother-in-law, Larry Lewman, Jr and wife Elizabeth and their children, Natalie, Colton and Isaac, all of St. Augustine, FL; father and mother-in-law, Larry and Lora Lewman; grandparents Maurice and Anna Lewman of Knightstown; and loved by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Abbott; grandparents, Henry and Wilma Abbott, Lela and Fate Smith; grandparents, William Howard and Genevee Davis; and best friend, Walter "Darrel" Griggs, III.

Services will be at 12:30 PM Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Current Church, 230 Commerce Drive, Franklin, IN 46131 with Pastor Gene Feasel officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until time of service at the church. A graveside service will be a 3:00 PM at Riverside Cemetery, 9045 N Goose Road, Carthage, IN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel.
